Premier League rivals Manchester City and Arsenal could soon do battle off the pitch for a teenager considered to be one of Europe’s most promising young players.
According to Tom Hopkinson of the Sunday Mirror, both clubs are chasing Dinamo Zagreb and Croatia youth international left-back David Colina.
The 16-year-old has been capped 23 times at under-17 level by Croatia and is tipped for a big future in the game. City and Arsenal scouts have been impressed by Colina, who is also attracting interest from clubs in Germany, Italy and Spain.
City recently received a ban on registering new academy players for two years (the second year suspended), but that applies only to Premier League and EFL clubs, allowing the Blues to continue recruiting from abroad.
