Pablo Zabaleta’s expected move to West Ham could be completed in the next 48 hours, according to a report by Ken Dyer of the London Evening Standard.
The 32-year-old isn’t officially out of contract with Manchester City until June 30, but is free to agree terms with another club before formally putting pen to paper, and has decided on move down south to the Hammers.
AC Milan were one of several other teams interested in the Argentine hero, but after close to a decade in England, the honorary Manc will now get to sample life in London.
Members of City staff are in Abu Dhabi for the customary end of season meetings ahead of what promises to be a busy summer. Kyle Walker of Tottenham is the leading choice to replace the outgoing Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna as City’s new right-back, provided a deal can be struck with Daniel Levy.
