Manchester City may have finished the 2016-17 Premier League season without a trophy, but the treasury has been filled up quite nicely ahead of a very busy summer in the transfer market.
The Blues received £34.2 million in merit money for finished third in the table, and £30.4 million in television money, which when added to the £84.4 million each club received comes to a total of £149 million.
Only newly-crowned Premier League champions Chelsea received a bigger pay-day than City, bringing in £152.8 million, with the same amount in television money but more in merit because of their position.
It has been reported that City could spend up to £250 million this summer to replenish an ageing squad, which has six veteran players out of contract and a host of others up for sale.
