Ali Bulut, the agent of the 20-year-old German international, met with Manchester City chiefs in February at the Kölner Maritim-Hotel to discuss a potential deal that would have seen him move to the Premier League.
Henrichs’ agent commented publicly that the flying full-back was happy to continue developing at the only club of his career so far, and Henrichs has decided to sign a new five-year contract at the BayArena.
City have recently turned their attention to Tottenham right-back Kyle Walker, with odds falling on him moving to the Etihad in the summer. However, there are reports today that Premier League champions Chelsea could interfere on that front, with the Daily Mail saying Spurs will use their interest in Walker to bump his price beyond £40 million.
As for Henrichs, he may reappear on Manchester City’s radar in the coming years but for now he is happy to stay put in the Bundesliga.
