Manchester City director of football Txiki Begiristain was in Turin yesterday to watch Juventus vs. Monaco, with a particular eye on Alex Sandro, according to a report from Goal.
City have been strongly linked with the left-back in recent times and are said to be willing to pay a €50 million fee in order to secure his services for next season.
And as previously reported by Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, Alex Sandro is becoming ‘increasingly enthralled’ by the idea of joining Pep Guardiola at City, and Juventus have identified former Chelsea full-back, Filipe Luís, who is currently at Spanish club Atlético Madrid, as Sandro’s replacement.
It’s no secret that Pep Guardiola is on the lookout to improve his defence, and Begiristain may have also been taking a closer look at other targets, including Leonardo Bonucci and Dani Alves, the latter of whom scored a stunning volley and received man of the match.
