We’re approaching the end of April, a disappointing month for Manchester City in which they exited the FA Cup, lost to Chelsea, and could only manage a draw against Manchester United in a very one-sided derby.
Despite that, there were several impressive performers this month. We’ve narrowed it down to four candidates, but if you have another, please leave a comment.
David Silva – Another stellar month for the silky playmaker, who continues to flourish into his 30s. He was quality in all of City’s games he was able to play in, and since going down injured at Wembley his presence has been sorely missed.
Nicolas Otamendi – Often criticised for his performances, the Argentine defender has had a solid, consistent month in the heart of City’s defence. No doubt this has been influenced by the return of another of our candidates.
Sergio Agüero – Debates continue about his all-round performances and he was wasteful in the derby, but Kun’s scoring record speaks for itself. He scored in five of City’s six games this month, including two matches against Arsenal and at Stamford Bridge.
Vincent Kompany – The club captain has returned from injury and it is safe to say, City look more stable and solid at the back with him there. Let’s hope he can stay fit this time, as he makes a big difference.
So, who is your player of the month for April? Please vote and we’ll announce the result at the end of the month.
