City Twitter: A better backup than Navas – is Patrick Roberts ready to play for City?

Celtic won 5-0 away at Hearts today to secure their sixth consecutive Scottish league title. Manchester City loanee Patrick Roberts put in a very strong performance managing to grab two assists and a goal that seemed to get the attention of some City fans.

In his 38 appearances this season, Roberts has recorded 13 assists and 6 goals – Including one against City in the Champions League. What’s impressive is that he’s done this whilst only managing 50 minutes a game on average this season, making many of his appearances as a late substitute.

With Navas out of contract in the summer and Nolito going missing altogether it appears, is Roberts a realistic addition to the squad next season?

Here’s what you had to say after we posed the question:

A better backup than Navas?

Or maybe he needs one more season of guaranteed playing time?

Would he benefit more learning directly Pep and world class players?
