Watch: David Silva becomes Spain’s fourth top scorer of all-time with goal against Israel

He is one of the finest players to ever grace the Premier League, but David Silva has also been a consistent performer for Spain’s national team since 2006. In recent years, he has become a leading figure for his country and 2016 was his most prolific goal scoring year to date, with 5 goals in 15 games.

Silva has risen up the ranks of Spain’s all-time top scorer list and today became the joint fourth when he put Spain 1-0 up against Israel in their World Cup Qualifier.

This goal took him to 29, level with Fernando Hierro and 9 goals behind Fernando Torres.

At the age of 31, Silva still has some years left in him – could he overtake El Niño before he retires?

Spain’s top scorers of all-time:

1. David Villa – 59
2. Raúl – 44
3. Fernando Torres – 38
4. David Silva and Fernando Hierro – 29
