Manchester City defender Nicolas Otamendi has been offered to Real Madrid for a fee in the region of €30 million (£25.8 million), according to Spanish newspaper Marca.
Real Madrid are in the market for a new central defender, with Pepe looking likely to move to China at the end of the season, and Otamendi could be a casualty of Pep Guardiola’s summer overhaul.
Reports in recent days have also linked Otamendi with a return to Spain but Real Madrid are unsure as to whether they want to invest in the Argentine with the likes of Nacho Fernandez and Jesús Vallejo bursting onto the scene this term.
29-year-old Otamendi has struggled during his time in England, with a lack of consistency and tendency to make rash decisions preventing him from retaining his place in the starting line-up.
The likes of Leonardo Bonucci, Virgil Van Dijk, and Aymeric Laporte have all been linked with a summer switch to the Etihad, which could see Otamendi depart – whether it be to Real Madrid or another club.
Until the end of March, the City Store is marking down some iconic Retro Shirts to £20 (£18 for Cityzens).
