Earlier today came news from Bild in Germany that Pep Guardiola had met the agent of Schalke left-back, Sead Kolašinac, likely to be one of Europe’s most sought-after defenders when his contract ends this summer.
The story claimed that Pep had tried to convince the 23-year-old to join Manchester City ahead of Arsenal, Liverpool, AC Milan, AS Roma and Juventus, with the hope that his former teammate, Leroy Sané, could have an influence in swaying him.
It hasn’t taken long for his representative to come out and strongly deny this story.
Speaking to WAZ, Gordon Stipic responded to Bild‘s big story, stating: “That is complete nonsense. There were never any talks with Pep Guardiola.”
Kolašinac, a Bosnian international, is one of many full-backs to be linked with a move to the Etihad this summer, but would represent one of the big bargains of the window with his Schalke deal up, making him available on a free transfer.
Until the end of March, the City Store is marking down some iconic Retro Shirts to £20 (£18 for Cityzens).
