Manchester City are among a host of clubs looking to sign 16-year old Flamengo forward Vinicius Júnior.
According to Spanish outlet AS, who have close ties with Spain’s two biggest clubs, Manchester City, Arsenal, PSG, Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid are all competing for the Brazilian teenager’s signature.
Dubbed as the ‘new Neymar’, Vinicius has been making waves at the South American Under-17 championship and is currently the tournament’s top scorer. AS claim that Manchester City and Guardiola consider Vinicius Júnior to be “fundamental” for their project. They also claim that Barcelona see the 16-year old as a future replacement for Lionel Messi or Neymar.
Manchester City already have a host of wonder kids at their academy but the club’s determination to hoard the world’s best young talent means they will continue to aggressively pursue tomorrow’s superstars. Especially one AS described as the “most desirable player for all the greats of Europe”.
