Yaya Touré has been a wanted man in Italy’s Serie A before after Roberto Mancini’s Inter tried to sign him from Manchester City two years running.
City hero Mancini was left frustrated by Inter’s inability to prise the midfielder away from the Etihad and with Mancio’s departure from the San Siro, the club’s interest in Yaya also ended.
But the 33-year-old, who has also been linked with Juventus in recent years, has a new suitor in Italy, it is reported.
According to calciomercato.com, it is AS Roma who now have an interest in Touré, who would reunited with his title-winning teammate, Edin Džeko, if he moved to the Stadio Olimpico.
Touré is out of contract in two and a half months and despite his claim that he loves City and wants to stay, his controversial agent, Dimitri Seluk, has again come out and suggested the iconic midfielder is leaving this summer.
And calciomercato.com claims to have received information that Roma are considering a swoop for the player, who would be available at no cost other than a signing-on fee and salary.
City are yet to offer Touré a new contract and he is one of six coming to the end of their deals this summer, along with Willy Caballero, Pablo Zabaleta, Bacary Sagna, Gaël Clichy and Jesus Navas. Guardiola recently suggested some of them could yet earn new contracts, but is leaving it late to decide with a serious summer of spending expected.
