TEN Manchester City players called up by England across six age groups

England today announced squad lists for upcoming internationals, including friendlies and qualifiers taking place across the world.

City are not short on English talent these days, particularly at academy level, where some of the country’s brightest prospects are learning their trade.

And no less than TEN players belonging to the Blues were announced today as having been called up across various age groups. At senior level, the three usual names summoned for duty were Raheem Sterling, John Stones and the on-loan Joe Hart.

At youth level, seven players have been called up and in all honesty it could have been more, given the wealth of talent at the City Football Academy. The most senior is Angus Gunn, who is part of Aidy Boothroyd’s England under-21 squad to face Germany and Denmark this month.

Just below that age group is Patrick Roberts, who will join up with the under-20 side, while the hugely promising pair of Jadon Sancho and Phil Foden are in the under-17 squad.

The full list of England call-ups for Manchester City players:

U17s: Jadon Sancho, Phil Foden
U18s: Sadou Diallo
U19s: Isaac Buckley-Ricketts, Lukas Nmecha
U20s: Patrick Roberts
U21s: Angus Gunn
England: John Stones, Raheem Sterling, Joe Hart
