It was recently reported that NAC Breda boss, Stijn Vreven, has become concerned that the army of Manchester City loanees are hindering rather than helping the Dutch side’s quest to reach the top-flight – with a couple of exceptions.
Those exceptions were named as 20-year-old Brandon Barker and 19-year-old Manu García. The others, had they read the report that originated in local paper BN DeStem, might have been a little peeved that their manager doesn’t seem to rate them.
And if James Horsfield was one of them, he answered any criticism in style yesterday when he scored an absolute beauty for NAC away at Fortuna Sittard. 21-year-old Horsfield, who is from Hazel Grove in Stockport, helped start and finished off a neat move that led to him smashing the ball past Fortuna’s goalkeeper from a difficult angle.
Horsfield’s goal came in the 83rd minute and wrapped up a 2-0 win for NAC, who are 8th in the Eerste Divisie, but only 3 points behind the play-off spots.
