Referee appointed for Manchester City vs. Stoke City

Neil Swarbrick has been named as ‘the man in the middle’ for Manchester City’s Premier League fixture against Stoke City on Wednesday night.

Swarbrick has taken charge of two Manchester City games this season in the Premier League, with the most recent one being the 2-0 victory against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium. The other fixture was a 3-1 victory over Swansea at the Liberty Stadium back in September.

While City emerged victorious in both fixtures, Swarbrick issued a number of yellow cards over the course of the two games. At the Vitality Stadium, he handed out five yellows, three of which were to City players. At the Liberty Stadium, he gave out six yellows, with four of them going to Manchester City players.

Swarbrick has only taken charge of one Stoke City game this season – a 2-0 victory for The Potters over Watford at the Britannia Stadium back in January. He dished out three yellow cards in that game, with one going to a Stoke City player.
