City Football Group are on the lookout for a new club to add to their expanding portfolio and the next one could be a Chinese club.
Manchester City are part of the City Football Group who already own three other clubs around the world – New York City FC, Melbourne City FC and Yokohama F. Marinos.
The current portfolio of clubs goes to show the global domination shown by the group as they look to expand across further territory, and the uprising of football in China is attracting interest from the group.
Speaking at the Millennial 20/20 Summit in New York, the chief commercial officer of City Football Group, Tom Glick, said:
“We have said that we are looking for other clubs to buy and we are looking very hard at the Chinese market.
“I spend about a quarter of my time in China and it is one of the most exciting football markets in the world. That represents a great opportunity for us.”
