Manchester City’s scouts continue to cast their net far and wide, looking for football’s greatest young talents to add to a burgeoning academy.
On an almost weekly basis, information emerges from some corner of the globe that City have their eyes on a local wonderkid. Many will never be signed, because the standards are now so high at the City Football Academy, but it goes without saying that the CFG’s scouting network is now one of the best on the planet.
One youngster who has been monitored recently is N’Sana Simon, a talented 16-year-old midfielder who captains RC Lens’ under-17 side.
According to Goal France, City, as well as fellow Premier League club Everton, have been to watch the player, able to use both feet comfortably, on several occasions in recent months. There is also interest from Spain.
His former coach, Moustapha Diarra, told Goal that the young prospect has all the qualities to reach the top in football, but will have to work hard, pointing out that even players like Cristiano Ronaldo are still working to improve. He also compared Simon to PSG midfielder, Marco Verratti, in that he is not very big, but is gifted with the ball.
Simon has yet to sign a professional deal with the Ligue 2 side, from whom Manchester City previously signed David Faupala (currently on loan at Chesterfield), meaning he could be acquired for little to no cost.
