Manchester City’s pursuit of full-backs continues, and with news today that alleged target Álex Grimaldo is out of action until March, any January move for him seems unlikely.
Another left-back linked with a switch to the Etihad has been Schalke’s Sead Kolašinac, a 23-year-old German-born Bosnian international.
Kolašinac is a reliable performer for the Gelsenkirchen club and with his contract ending in June, will be one of the biggest bargains of the summer transfer market.
And according to Tuttosport in Italy, it will be the kings of the free transfer, Juventus, where the player will end up. He is reported to have rejected advances from City, Liverpool and Juventus’ domestic rivals AC Milan in recent days, and will instead be heading to Turin. Despite the appeal of a move to the Premier League, Kolašinac only has eyes for Juventus after being convinced by their project.
Arsenal have also been linked with a move for the in-demand full-back, but once again Juventus appear to be getting themselves a bargain, something they have become renowned for having snatched the likes of Paul Pogba, Patrice Evra, Sami Khedira and Dani Alves at little to no cost in recent years.
