Mark Clattenburg has been appointed as referee for City’s visit to Everton at the weekend.
Referee Mark Clattenburg has been put in charge of Everton vs. Manchester City on Sunday by the FA.
Clattenburg was handed the FA Cup Final last year as well as the Champions League Final, however many Manchester City fans don’t hold the highest opinion of the respected referee. Noticeably, he decided to award a penalty to Tottenham Hostpur last season at the Etihad Stadium for handball, when the ball actually hit the back of Sterling outside the box.
Clattenburg has refereed 14 Premier League games this season in which he has handed out a total of 52 yellow cards and 2 red cards. He has been the man in the middle of two City games this season – their derby day victory over Manchester United and a 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium against Southampton. He has refereed one of Everton’s games which was a 2-1 victory over Arsenal at Goodison Park
The match officials for this Sunday’s game in full are:
Referee: Mark Clattenburg
Assistants: Steve Bennett, Darren Cann
Fourth official: Kevin Friend
