Jack Byrne has returned to Manchester City after his loan at Blackburn Rovers was terminated due to a lack of game time.
It was reported yesterday that the deal was set to be ended early, he may return to play in the EDS team at Manchester City or may head out on loan elsewhere.
It’s disappointing for Byrne and the club, who will believe this is an opportunity missed for the player to continue is development.
Rumours that the deal was set to be ended came about after comments from Owen Coyle, the Blackburn Rovers boss said:
“I have had dialogue with Manchester City over Jack Byrne who we know is a very talented player. He will have a terrific career but I think it’s important Jack gets some game-time and he’s not had that of late.
“To be fair he has been ill over Christmas. The likelihood is that Jack will return to Manchester City and get some game-time, whether that be with another loan spell or in the youth teams.”
Manchester City confirmed the news via Twitter this afternoon:
