Guardiola confirms Gabriel Jesus’ first-team training session

Pep Guardiola announced in his pre-West Ham press conference that Gabriel Jesus will take part in his first training session with the rest of the team later this afternoon. Pep confirmed that Jesus has already undergone two training sessions away from the team since his arrival, accompanied by one of City’s physiotherapy team.

However, those of you hoping that the Brazilian sensation might make an appearance in tomorrow’s FA Cup third round tie will be a little disappointed. Work permit issues will prevent the 19-year old from making his first appearance for the Blues at the London Stadium tomorrow. Having said that though, the club are hopeful that he will be registered and eligible to play in time for City’s Premier League clash with Everton on 15th January.

By then, Gabriel Jesus will have almost 2 weeks worth of training under his belt and should be nearing full fitness. Not long now…
