The 2016 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A is now over and not only did Manchester City new boy Gabriel Jesus win the league with Palmeiras, but he was also named the best player in Brazil’s top-flight.
The £27 million signing didn’t kick his last ball in Brazil with the climax of the domestic league though, and earlier today competed in a charity match between the Amigos do Jackson and Amigos do Valdívia at the Arena Pantanal in Cuiabá.
During this good-natured match, a supporter ran on to the pitch and for no apparent reason assaulted Gabriel Jesus with a tackle from behind. Security guards quickly caught the fan, but he was denounced for his bad attitude on social media.
Luckily, Gabriel Jesus wasn’t injured. Wouldn’t that just have been ‘Typical City’?
