Pep Guardiola has personally contacted Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez in an effort to convince him to join Manchester City, according to Chilean publication El Mercurio.
Alexis Sanchez, 27, scored a hat-trick against West Ham last weekend to take him top of the goal-scoring charts with eleven goals. El Mercurio beleive that Pep Guardiola made a phone call to Sanchez after that game in the hope of convincing the Arsenal star to swap London with Manchester.
Alexis is currently undergoing contract negotiations with Arsenal as his deal expires in 2018. However, there is yet to be a breakthrough in the talks and if Alexis has no intention to renew by next summer then Arsenal will be forced to sell their most valuable asset.
El Mercurio claim Guardiola has already contacted Sanchez on at least two separate occasions and suggest that this is a tactic Guardiola has employed before with then Barcelona goalkeeper Claudio Bravo. Incoming Palmeiras star Gabriel Jesus also stated that a personal phone call from Guardiola was enough to convince him to join Manchester City.
