Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus inspires Palmeiras to first title since 1994

19-year-old Brazil sensation Gabriel Jesus will be joining Manchester City a happy man in January. The striker tonight helped his beloved Palmeiras to their first Campeonato Brasileiro Série A title since 1994 as the Alviverde beat Chapecoense 1-0 at the Allianz Parque in São Paulo.

It has been a breakout year for the £27 million City new boy, who has one more match as a Palmeiras player left before he begins preparations to join up with the City squad in early 2017. Not only is he now a league champion, but also won a call-up to the Brazil national team, which he has repaid with 4 goals in 6 caps.

On the domestic front, the teenager has scored over 20 goals for his club in 2016, but there is much more to his game than goals. Gabriel Jesus can also create chances with his explosive pace and skill, and will contribute defensively due to a strong work ethic.

Gabriel couldn’t hide his emotion after Palmeiras’ league title win was confirmed with a match to spare.

We’ll be seeing a lot more of 19-year-old Gabriel Jesus soon at the Etihad Stadium. Be excited Blues, Jesus is coming!
