Manchester City have been closely monitoring Schalke 04 left-back Sead Kolašinac for the past five weeks, according to German newspaper Sport Bild.
The 23-year-old Bosnian international is highly rated and several Premier League clubs are said have eyes on him. If he does choose to leave the Gelsenkirchen-based club, someone could strike a bargain Bosman deal with his current contract due to expire next summer.
Schalke want Kolašinac to renew his contract, but if he decides to move on, a January sale could be on the cards to avoid losing him on a free transfer next summer.
This is not the first time City have been linked with a move for the player. A year ago, his agent confirmed that the Blues were among the clubs scouting Kolašinac.
Gordon Stipic-Wipfler (ag. Kolasinac): "We must say there are a great Premier League clubs such as Manchester City who are watching."

City are expected to overhaul the full-back positions next summer, with all four senior players in those areas over the age of 30.
