Manuel Pellegrini was replaced by Pep Guardiola this season, however the former City boss has no hard feelings.
Some people have always suggested that Manchester City mistreated former manager Manuel Pellegrini after the announcement that Pep Guardiola would take over the reigns in February. However, the club and Pellegrini have both always been keen to insist that this wasn’t the case and now Pellegrini has spoken about the situation again.
Pellegrini has since moved onto the Chinese Super League where he manages Hebei China Fortune.
Speaking to Cadena Ser, Manuel Pellegrini said:
“When they signed me, [Manchester] City were very clear with me,” he said. “They came for me and they told me that they wanted Pep Guardiola or me.
“Guardiola did not want to sign and I did it for three years. I fulfilled my phase and Pep wanted to coach in England because he had spent many years in Barcelona. There is no problem.”
