Hungarian referee Viktor Kassai has been appointed to oversee Manchester City vs. Barcelona at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night.
41-year-old Kassai previously officiated City’s trip to the Allianz Arena in 2011, during their first Champions League campaign, and many Blues will remember the two penalties that the team probably should have been given before falling to a 2-0 defeat.
With four red cards in five matches against Barcelona, City have reason to be wary of this referee. He handed out two red cards in his only Champions League appointment of the season to date, PSG vs. Arsenal, and is not afraid to brandish the cards.
The all-Hungarian cast in charge of City vs. Barcelona is as follows:
Referee: Viktor Kassai
Assistants: György Ring and Vencel Tóth
Fourth official: Peter Berettyán
