43-year-old Serbian referee Milorad Mažic will take charge of the Champions League tie between Barcelona and Manchester City on Wednesday night.
A respected official, Mažic was selected as a referee for the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the UEFA Euro 2016. In club football, he regularly officiates Champions League and Europa League matches.
This will be his fourth Manchester City assignment. In 2012, he oversaw the 1-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund, then two years later he was in charge of the memorable 2-0 win over Roma at the Stadio Olimpico. Last season, he was referee for the 2-2 draw against PSG in France.
Barcelona have two wins out of two under Mažic, victories over AC Milan and Spartak Moscow.
Mažic’s most recent non-domestic assignment was England’s 1-0 win over Slovakia in September, a game in which the Serb handed out a red card and three yellow cards.
