Hector Bellerín has been the subject of much speculation this season but Arsene Wenger says the full-back will stay put.
It’s no secret that Arsenal want Hector Bellerín to stay at the club after reports linked him with a move to join fellow Spaniard Pep Guardiola and Arsene Wenger has said he is surprised by the reports.
Speaking in a press conference earlier today, Wenger said “I’m surprised by the speculation. His long-term future is here”.
Wenger is confident that Bellerín will sign a new contract and commit his long term future to the London club, however it’s also worth noting that he thought the same about Samir Nasri – he then moved to Manchester City.
Back in 2011, Wenger was quoted as saying “Samir Nasri is very happy at the club and is committed to staying at the club”, so a move for Bellerín isn’t exactly ruled out by Wenger’s comments earlier this morning.
