Sergio Aguero was substituted during Argentina’s game against Peru amid fears he has suffered a calf injury.
Sergio Aguero has suffered a fresh injury setback after he was injured on international duty. The striker was substituted during Argentina’s 2-2 draw with Peru before playing in a training match on Sunday.
On Sunday, Aguero was taken off during the training match and replaced by Nicolas Gaitan after feeling pain in his left calf muscle – Aguero then went to work with the national team’s physiotherapists according to MARCA.
Aguero has yet to be officially ruled out but is a doubt for the game against Paraguay and may give Pep Guardiola yet another selection headache with Bacary Sagna, Vincent Kompan and Fabian Delph. Kevin De Bruyne is also set to miss the Everton match at the weekend, however City have received positive news about his rehabilitation.
If Aguero is injured for the game against Everton then City will be boosted by the form of Kelechi Iheanacho who was on the scoresheet for Nigeria over the international break.
