Sergio Aguero has declared himself fit amid fears that he had suffered another injury setback.
City fans received some worrying news on Sunday night as it was reported that star striker, Sergio Aguero, had picked up an injury in training while on international duty with Argentina.
This injury was confirmed as an adductor strain, and thankfully not Sergio’s recurring hamstring problem.
Aguero has since given an interview to Argentinian publication, Diario Olé, putting the minds of the City faithful at ease.
“I’m much better. After the Peru game I had two days to make the recovery and I did a little bit of football today. I’m quite well,” said Aguero.
“I’m quite well now,” Aguero continued, “you get physical fitness from playing, not from training. Bauza has the decision – I’ll be available for Tuesday.”
Aguero has developed something of a habit of picking up injuries whilst away on international duty, and he himself has recognised that.
“Sometimes you think: ‘Why didn’t I stop?’, but when they call you for the national team, you want to play at any cost.”
Let’s hope that Sergio’s role in Argentina’s game against Paraguay on Tuesday is minimal, and he returns to Manchester in peak physical condition for City’s tricky fixture against Everton this weekend.
