Spurs 2-0 Manchester City: Player Ratings

Claudio Bravo – 7

Given little chance with either goal and used the ball well when in possession, under intense pressure. Excellent save to deny Lamela from the penalty spot.

Pablo Zabaleta – 4

Constantly out of position, and his non-challenge on Rose for the first goal was pathetic. Seems his time at the top level is coming to an end.

Nicolas Otamendi – 5

Lucky to stay on the pitch after a few rash challenges. Struggled with the movement of Son all afternoon.

John Stones – 7 (Man of the Match)

Unfazed, and despite being on the losing side he was very good. Kept his composure all game, and will continue to get better.

Aleksandr Kolarov – 3

A nightmare performance. Positionally awful and his own goal was embarrassing. The Kolarov of this season has suddenly gone missing.

Jesus Navas – 4

Won’t be getting more chances if this is his level of performance. Offered nothing in an attacking sense, and his use of the ball was really poor.

Fernandinho – 5

Gave away the penalty, and struggled with the high intensity of the Spurs midfield. Improved in the second half.

Fernando – 4

Poor with his back to play, and he couldn’t break the lines of Spurs pressure with his passing. Another whose time may be running out.

David Silva – 5

Poor in the first half, much improved in the second. Didn’t really influence the game in the way we know he can.

Raheem Sterling – 5

Struggled with the pace and power of Rose, and his end product wasn’t at a good enough level. Looked understandably burnt out at the end.

Sergio Aguero – 5

Really poor. His movement wasn’t good enough, and he didn’t press the Spurs back four enough. Wasted a few presentable opportunities in the second half.

Ilkay Gundogan – 5

Struggled initially and his passing was sloppy, but started to dominate proceedings as Spurs tired.

Kelechi Iheanacho – 5

Made some clever runs in behind. Was denied by a great save from Lloris.

Leroy Sané – N/A

Came on with a few minutes to go. No time to make an impact.
