Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero will miss the Manchester derby and serve a three-match suspension with immediate effect after an FA charge of violent conduct against him was found proven.
Aguero was involved in an incident with West Ham defender Winston Reid where he was judged to have elbowed the player. Andre Marriner, despite facing the incident, claimed after the match that he hadn’t seen it, meaning it had to be referred to the FA.
Aguero and City were not pleased with the violent conduct charge and decided to contest it, but an Independent Regulatory Commission have rejected the club’s further claim to decrease the three-match ban.
Kun will miss the Manchester derby, Premier League home tie against Bournemouth, and League Cup trip to Swansea.
