Eliaquim Mangala has officially joined Valencia CF on loan for the rest of the season.
The 25-year old Frenchman who arrived from Porto for £42m two years ago leaves City on transfer-deadline day in a deal which includes no option to buy. Mangala looked all but set for a return to FC Porto yesterday until a “better financial opportunity” suddenly appeared for City according to O Jogo.

The new Valencia man struggled to hold down a permanent place in the City side and his performances these past two seasons were inconsistent to say the least. While he was part of the defence that kept six cleans sheets in a row at the start of the season; and impressed as City reached the Champions League semi-final, he never looked truly at home in a City shirt.
Eliaquim Mangala, who made 64 appearances for Manchester City, will likely replace new Arsenal man Shkodran Mustafi.
