Manchester City vs. Sunderland: starting lineups and TV information

A brand new era truly begins today at the Etihad Stadium as Pep Guardiola leads Manchester City out for the first time in a competitive fixture. Today’s opposition for our first game of the 2016-17 Premier League season are Sunderland, also led by a new boss in the form of David Moyes. It will be Moyes’ first visit to the Etihad since City demolished Manchester United 4-1 a few years ago, and he will be hoping for much better from his new team.

Here is the starting lineup for City’s opening match of the season and also that of the visitors. The rumours were true – Joe Hart is benched! Yaya Toure doesn’t even make the bench.

Manchester City XI: Caballero, Sagna, Stones, Kolarov, Clichy, Fernandinho, Silva (c), Nolito, De Bruyne, Sterling, Aguero

Sunderland XI: Mannone, Love, van Aanholt, Kaboul, Kone, O’Shea, Rodwell, Gooch, Watmore, Borini, Defoe
