Everton are locked in talks with Manchester City over a deal for forward Wilfried Bony, according to respected Dutch news portal Voetbal International.
Reports from the English press in reason days have been clear that Everton are not interested in the 27-year-old Ivorian, but VI, known to be one of the best news sources in the Netherlands, claim talks are at an advanced stage over a deal that could reach €30 million (£25.6 million).
During negotiations for John Stones, a deal that was finally concluded today, the two parties discussed Bony, who Everton would sign as a replacement for Romelu Lukaku. Lukaku has told Everton he wants to rejoin Chelsea and the Toffees appear to be anticipating his exit by moving for Bony.
Bony, along with Nasri and Mangala, were both left out of the Champions League squad after Pep Guardiola made it clear they are not in his plans. Nasri is attracting interest from Serie A, while Valencia are in talks over a deal for Mangala, the London Evening Standard report.
