UEFA have posted Manchester City’s Champions League squad for the play-off stage and it includes an interesting player – John Stones.
The squad would suggest that the only thing stopping us from seeing John Stones in a City shirt is official confirmation, according to UEFA, the deal is done.
John Stones will take the number 24 shirt at City and is expected to have cost between £40 and £50 million from Everton.
It is reported that Stones has already undergone his City medical as well as his CityTV interview after signing late last night.
The Champions League squad also sees the exclusion of Wilfried Bony, Eliaquim Mangala and Samir Nasri who aren’t set to feature in Pep’s plans this season.
There’s no place either for Vincent Kompany who will miss out through injury, but it’s important to note that this squad is only for the qualifying stage only and doesn’t follow through to the group stages if City make it.
However, Leroy Sané is included despite fears that he may be out for two months with a hamstring injury.
