The Leroy Sané saga is almost reaching KDB saga levels of tedium, but the end is in sight!
Sky Deutschland journalist Dirk g. Schlarmann revealed on Twitter today that everything is sorted, except the final agreement between Manchester City and Schalke – which, BILD have reported, isn’t far off. The player wants the move, his family want the move, City (obviously) want the player, and Schalke have come to terms with selling him.
Schlarmann intimated that the final obstacles could be overcome this weekend, after which the 20-year-old Germany winger will fly in to Manchester for a medical and contract signing.

Sané has been training with Schalke, and perhaps a testament to his character is that only today was he due back – for the previous two days he has been training voluntarily and also mingling with fans, taking photographs and signing autographs. This is the sort of personality that will appeal to a club like City, who compile in-depth dossiers on every aspect of a transfer target’s life, and also Pep Guardiola, who values hard work and commitment.
And so it seems, the wait is almost over. It’s been a long one, but Leroy Sané should soon be confirmed as a Manchester City player barring any last minute hitches.
