Yesterday, Manchester City ‘studded’ Juventus CEO Beppe Marotta with phones calls, reiterating their desire to sign Juventus’ 29-year old Italian international center-back Leonardo Bonucci.
According to this morning’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, Pep Guardiola is ‘obsessed’ with bringing Bonucci to the Etihad and Manchester City have placed a €60m bid on the table for Juventus to ponder. So far, the Bianconeri have not yet responded.
Leonardo Bonucci is currently on holiday in Formentera and ‘sources’ on the island report that he had organised a special toast with friends. Why? ‘According to whispers’, Bonucci is seriously considering the idea of changing club colours.
Pep Guardiola has taken the initiative and ‘demanded’ City sign someone he once described as one of his favourite ever players. A five-year contract worth €8m a year has been offered to Bonucci although Gazzetta claim that it is not just City who are interested, with Chelsea also in the frame too.
