Manchester City are on the verge of finally concluding a deal for Schalke winger Leroy Sané, according to BILD tonight.
Comments from Schalke sporting director earlier tonight confirmed that Sané will be leaving after an offer from England, and this seems to have accelerated the deal with BILD stating that the 20-year-old is very close to joining City.
Schalke are expecting to receive a fee in the region of €50 million (£42 million), which, if confirmed, would be a new German transfer record, surpassing the €47m that Arsenal paid for Mesut Özil in 2013.
Sané will earn a salary of €6 million per season in Manchester, which works out at around £96,000 per week, and will sign a four-year contract when the clubs reach a final agreement.
Back in November, Pep Guardiola said, “Sané is a huge talent and I can only congratulate Germany to have a talent like him.” Now, the Catalan coach will get to work with this prodigious talent as a new era begins at Manchester City.
