After several leaked images in recent weeks, we can now confirm the black and red design you may have seen is the new Manchester City away kit. The ever reliable FootyHeadlines.com have posted clear shots of the shirt as well as the shorts. The colour of the socks is not yet known, but it is thought they could be yellow.
Description: “Black and red are the primary colors used for the Manchester City 2016-17 away shirt, recalling a popular set of colors that was often used for Manchester City away kits in the past, most times in a striped design. The new Manchester City logo can be seen on Manchester City’s 16-17 away kit in a monochromatic yellow version. A modern v-collar rounds off the design.
Manchester City last donned the colors black and red in the 2011-12 season with Umbro, and then they also combined the kit with yellow for sponsor logos.
The shorts of the Nike Manchester City 2016-2017 away kit will be black, while the color of the socks is not yet known. It’s a valid possibility that the Man City 16-17 home socks will be yellow, similar to Nike’s upcoming Inter home kit and in line with the brand’s latest trends.”
