Manchester City have won the race to sign one of South America’s most exciting young prospects, 19-year-old Colombian international Marlos Moreno.
The Mirror reports that City’s South American scouting operation, led by former Barcelona man Joan Patsy, have fended off competition to strike a structured deal worth £8.23 million for the exciting winger.
Moreno, who has shone for Atletico Nacional in this season’s Copa Libertadores and represented Colombia at the recent Copa América Centenario, will be sent on loan to La Liga, with the Mirror and Colombian media reporting Deportivo La Coruña to be his most likely destination.
All of Europe’s big guns are said to have shown interest in Moreno, with City beating rivals Manchester United and others to his signature.
Moreno is a mobile and skillful winger and once his signing is confirmed, will be the second elite talent of his age group to join City this summer, after Oleksandr Zinchenko.
