The Pablo Zabaleta to Roma saga seems to be going around in circles. The most recent story was that Zabaleta had agreed to join and that Roma were in talks with Manchester City over a fee.
Gazzetta dello Sport may have jumped the gun a little there, with Sky Italia transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio reporting tonight that Roma have offered a three-year deal to Zaba, but that they are still awaiting a response from the 31-year-old.
Di Marzio says Roma haven’t opened talks with City yet and will wait until Zabaleta gives his approval for that. There is also still the prospect of Roberto Mancini making a late play for his former City right-back, with Il Messaggero claiming today that Mancio has contacted Zabaleta about bringing him to Inter.
What is beyond doubt is that Roma’s interest is very serious and he has a decision to make very soon. Will we soon be waving goodbye to our honorary Mancunian?
