SD Eibar have tonight announced the signing of 25-year-old defender Florian Lejeune from Manchester City after activating his €1.5 million (£1.24 million) release clause.
This deal has been in the making for some time, with the La Liga club announcing tonight that the Frenchman has signed a four-year contract.

City signed Lejeune from Girona a year ago in a deal worth around £215,000, and loaned him straight back in an effort to boost their push for promotion from the Segunda División. Despite the club narrowly missing out on promotion to La Liga, Lejeune was one of Girona’s outstanding performers and has attracted much interest.
For City, this has been a shrewd bit of business as if all reported figures are true, they have profited to the tune of £1 million. They could soon do likewise with striker Rubén Sobrino, who is also attracting interest.
Another player leaving the Etihad today is promising 20-year-old midfielder Jack Byrne, who has joined Championship side Blackburn on a season-long loan after impressing for Cambuur in the Eredivisie last season.
