Manchester City want to keep hold of Yaya Touré for another year, his controversial agent Dimitri Seluk has told FCInterNews today.
Asked the current situation with Yaya, Seluk said: “At the moment there is no news in particular. Yaya is a Manchester City player. We will see what happens.”
He was then asked what is holding back a move to Inter for Yaya and became a little more revealing, replying: “Two things, basically. City want to continue focusing on him and keep him for next season, but that is normal because Yaya is a great player. In addition to this, Inter have some constrants linked to Financial Fair Play.”
So what are the chances of him relocating to Milan this summer? Seluk answered: “I don’t know, we’ll see. Of course it’d be easier to see him in Milan at the end of next season when his contract expires.”
Seluk didn’t rule out the possibility of 33-year-old Touré joining Inter this summer, but his comments strongly suggested a deal could be difficult and that the talismanic midfielder could remain at the Etihad for one more year. The saga continues…
