Italian transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio offered some possible updates about the future of Yaya Touré tonight during his Calciomercato – L’Originale show on Sky Italia.
With so many conflicting stories about Touré’s future, City fans probably just want it sorted and soon. His options at this time appear to be to remain at Manchester City or reunite with Roberto Mancini at Inter Milan.
Di Marzio confirmed tonight that Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio is already in England, with Yaya quite possibly on his agenda. One of Ausilio’s objectives is to talk with English clubs about Andrea Ranocchia and Marcelo Brozović, two Inter stars attracting Premier League interest.
However, Di Marzio believes Ausilio’s other plan could be to initiate new talks for Touré. The 33-year-old is Mancini’s dream signing, but this remains a difficult deal for Inter to pull off for several reasons. Despite that and contrary to what is being reported in the English media, who believe the chances of Yaya joining Inter are close to zero, over in Italy there is still a feeling that Yaya Touré could play at the San Siro next season.
