Following yesterday’s exclusive from Calciomercato claiming City interest in Juventus right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner, there is more news from Italy today.
According to Tuttosport, perhaps the newspaper best connected to Juventus in Italy, City’s interest is real and they are ready to offer €10 million (£7 million) for the right-back. This isn’t enough for Juventus, despite the imminent arrival of Dani Alves in the same position, and they want a minimum €15 million (£11.8 million) for the player.
Lichtsteiner turns 33 next season so a fee of over £10 million may be excessive, despite his quality. Should the experienced Swiss international join City, it would almost certainly mean the end of Pablo Zabaleta, who has been linked with a move to Serie A.
