The summer is young, yet every day more and more names are linked with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City. It was always going to be a window full of transfer speculation with Pep arriving and an overhaul rumoured, but it’s becoming hard to keep up with who we are linked with.
The first of the names linked with us today isn’t a new one. In fact, French reports last summer claimed we were a step away from signing this Brazilian international. According to a Le10Sport ‘exclusive’, Monaco have three offers for right-back Fabinho. Atletico Madrid have been strongly tipped to sign him, and Napoli’s interest is also well documented, but the third team is named as City. In Italy, United have also been listed as a suitor for the lanky Brazilian, who can also operate as a holding midfielder. Fabinho is a player in demand, and with all four of City’s full-backs over the age of 30, the 22-year-old could be a realistic target.
Speaking of Italy, Gianluca Di Marzio said on Sky Italia earlier that City are one of the clubs interested in signing young Colombia striker Marlos Moreno, who is making a name for himself at the Copa América Centenario. 19-year-old Moreno, who plays for Atlético Nacional in his homeland, started and scored in Colombia’s latest game against Costa Rica and is attracting much attention. It’s not only City who have eyes on him – there’s also United and Chelsea – with the player expected to fetch around €10 million (£8 million) if he is sold this summer.
