After a good season on loan at Bastia that saw him named one of Ligue 1’s breakthrough players by France Football, Manchester City youngster Seko Fofana finds himself in demand.
The 21-year-old Parisien joined City in 2013 and after working his way through the youth system, enjoyed a productive loan spell at Fulham before spending the entire 2015-16 season back home in France with Bastia.
However, his opportunities at City appear limited with Pep Guardiola bulking up the midfield and several youth players, notably Aleix and Manu García, arguably more suited to Pep’s brand of football. This means interest is high in a young player who isn’t short on potential.
According to L’Equipe, Bordeaux want to strengthen their squad by signing Fofana from City. They face competition though, with Hamburg, Torino and Queens Park Rangers all interested in the former France under-19 international. Whether City want to sell Seko or loan him again isn’t made clear, but his talents are in high demand.
