Ter Stegen? Rulli? Sommer? A legion of goalkeepers have been linked with Manchester City in recent months and it seems almost certain that incoming boss Pep Guardiola is on the lookout for someone to really challenge Joe Hart.
One of the more recent names linked is Benfica shot-stopper Ederson Moraes, who has made the goalkeeping position his own at the Portuguese league champions since veteran Júlio César was injured.
According to A Bola, City’s interest is more than passing and they are about to make a formal offer of €25 million (£19.3 million) for the 22-year-old. A recent report by the same publication claimed that Guardiola has been impressed by Ederson’s skill set, particularly his ability with the ball at his feet.
Ederson has a €45 million (£34.8 million) release clause at Benfica, who are known for getting top dollar for their players, and the Portuguese newspaper believes Benfica would not resist if City make a determined attempt to recruit the young goalkeeper.
